A unique storytelling project that attempts to record and retell oral narratives of critically endangered cultures across India and Asia documented by the project between 2010 and 2014 from around India and the Eastern Himalayas. Retold by Project Founder, Koitso Salil Mukhia, a shaman and a storyteller from the Rainbow tribe, Koits, the series will showcase a unique blend of drunken narratives and music. The stories are often retold through a ritual and prayers to the Rainbow. The session includes retelling in trance state with the purpose of accessing stories from the ancestral space. Many of these traditions have been until now been strictly kept within the tribes.
The stories are being shared to highlight the relevance of tribal myths, legends and folklore in the context of urban India and to ensure the conservation of vanishing cultures and their wisdom. Story of the Mountain Fire Woman, Rainbow Woman, Red Moon Peak, Stories from the Sky.
