Event Description : Utsav-Ranjana's Odissi Dance Academy presents 8th edition of its annual festival "Saare Jahan Se Accha".
The Founder President of Utsav, Smt. Ranjana Gauhar, recipient of Padmashri Award and
Sangeet Natak Akademi Award, is the motivational spirit behind this concept of the prestigious festival, which is now an annual event in the calendar of Utsav. An artist par-excellence with a deep commitment to Indian culture, Ranjana Gauhar has through innovative initiatives been working concertedly for the preservation, promotion and integration of the creative field. She has contributed to create a cultural renaissance that has in a profound way strengthened and showcased the high standards of India’s cultural heritage. In its 27 years, Utsav has enriched the cultural scenario of the Capital through teaching, seminars and festivals, especially in the field of Odissi Dance and music. Utsav has also served as a credible platform for many young and talented as well as renowned artists.
The festival, Sare Jahan Se Accha, marks the celebration of India’s Independence as a tribute
to the nation by the artist fraternity through their individual art. The concept of Sare Jahan Se
Achha this year aims at invoking through dance, the journey of life that seeks to attain release
from bondage to ‘Liberation’ and ‘Moksha’, which is the core of Indian philosophy and
spirituality.

Mohiniyattam recital by Ayswaria Wariar.
Odissi recital by Sharmila Mukherjee.
