Event Description : ‘Sasha’ in association with ‘Sanskar’ presents "TSutra" an exhibition that celebrates the rich culture of Indian heritage and contemporary design. Respecting Fair Trade values, indigenous culture and the environment, Sonam Dubal of ‘Sanskar’, a leading fashion designer partners with Roopa Mehta, CEO of “Sasha”, a Fair Trade Organization and brings together a unique collection of ensembles for women, personal accessories and home textiles. Hand woven textiles, prints, surface detailing in kurtas, kaftans, tribal paneled tunics, embroidered saris, silk stoles, patchwork and layered jackets, wraps in various cotton textures and silk prints will be exhibited.

This pleasing collection is complimented with stylish personal accessories like leather hand bags, totes, recycled and embroidered home products in traditional quilting and Kantha work. The color palette is a mix of festive brights, deep hues and earthy tones.

For Sonam, Tsutra started evolving in 2011, when he moved to Pondicherry seeking to recreate a holistic line through craft and handloom textiles. The line coincided with the tenth year of his work with his fashion label 'Sanskar', when he felt a natural inclination to work on a line that was communicative with concepts of preservation of crafts and recycling in textiles.  Through his label ‘Sanskar’, Sonam delicately fuses eastern tradition and western aesthetics,   Reincarnation is a theme deeply connected to “Sanskar” and there is a message with a desire to connect to the past as a concept for designing and blending it with modern sensibilities.
