Event Description : Sanskriti Foundation and India International Centre cordially invite you to an evening of Vocal Recital by Omkar Dadarkar Recipient of the Sanskriti-Madhobi Chatterji Memorial Fellowship.

Sanskriti-Madhobi Chatterji Memorial Fellowship Ms. Purobi Mukharji has instituted a Fellowship in Indian Classical Music and Dance in the memory of her mother, late Smt. Madhobi Chatterji under the aegis of Sanskriti Foundation. The purpose of this fellowship is to support and encourage promising young artists to develop their potential and perfect their skills by providing them the resources and time to dedicate to the art. This fellowship hopes to provide a facility for developing existing potential and locating new talents.

Omkar Dadarkar Omkar took his initial training under Mr.Ram Deshpande. Since 1999,he has undergone a rigorous training under the tutelage of guru Pt.Ulhas Kashalkar. He has also got his training of light classical form under Vidushi Girijadevi and Srinivas Khale. Omkar is recognized as a promising upcoming talent and has won the prestigious “Shanmukhananda Hall- Mumbai-Sangeet Shiromani” award. Omkar was awarded the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar 2009 by Sangeet Natak Academy New Delhi. He is presently working with I.T.C. Sangeet Research Academy Kolkata as a Musician Tutor. Omkar Dadarkar is the present recipient of the Sanskriti-Madhobi Chatterji Fellowship and will perform at the IIC auditorium. He will be accompanied on the harmonium by Shri Anant Joshi and on the Tabla by Shri Milind Pote.
