Event Description : 'Colors of India' a photography exhibition by Kaynat Kazi.

India stands for its incredible culture, spectacular crafts & artefacts, great traditions and rituals.
Be it the people, lifestyle or the mystical charm- India has always amazed the world with her
uniqueness. The colors of India have mesmerized rulers, outsiders, and visitors – perhaps more so because of the stories and legends that bind its people, its culture, and its beliefs.
Colors of India, as the name suggests, is an attempt to highlight the vivid and palpable layers
of hues in diversity. “Colors of India” is a visual presentation of a millionth of the richness the
country offers. Colors of India is a never ending journey of the human senses and imagination
taking birth from the freshness of the lush green meadows and spreading all across the country. The “rani” pink of mystical Rajasthan, the pastel hues of southern India, the joyous, bright hues of the northern frontier, and the balmy bright colors of the east offer a kaleidoscopic insight into an almost perfect blend of history and modernism. India, as a land, reflects the unity of its people in diversity. It is a land of rich and varied heritage. From the peculiar and tantalizing smell of spices in the households to the stains of turmeric on the rosy palms of the bride; fields of bright marigolds and hovering bees, create an illusion that the warm days will never cease. Happiness is trapped in packets of Gulaal and the glitter in the skies reflects thousands of dreams. With the blowing wind, sway the brightly tied and dyed veils. India is not only the "country of snake charmers and magicians" but a paradise of elaborate colors, unaltered smiles, glinting eyes, painted dreams, garnished with love and purity. India is in the subtle warmth of the rising sun and the chill of sparkling streams, in every heart and dreams.
“Colors of India” is a journey of self discovery. It is a compilation of four years of experience, a
travel memorabilia through seldom explored nooks and corners of the largest democracy of the world. I decided to travel beyond the clichéd destinations and discover the new. In my experience, I discovered the real India in the Galis of old cities, in the smiles of innocent children running on streets, in the skilled hands of the craftsmen, and in the eyes of the people who are beautiful from within. With each passing frame of time, each new face and every place slowly explored, the colors seemed to sink deeper into my veins. From colorful block prints, elaborate Mughal crafts to Blue pottery and Meenakari, Colors of India is more than just a story. It is a way of life. I heard new stories, created some and became a part of others and developed an identity which makes me feel proud to be an Indian. Photography, to me, is the strongest medium of expression. It has not only taught me to be patient but also made me realize that beauty is an entity that everyone carries, all you need is an eye.
