Event Description : NETPAC India presents film screenings to pay Tribute to documentary filmmakers Pramod-Neelima Mathur.

Schedule :

29th July :
Jungle Dreams
A documentary based on Chendru, a Muria tribal in central India, who had acted in a Swedish film forty years ago. The film studies the impact of the Swedish film on this simple tribal boy viz-a-viz his relationship with kinsmen and the changes in his life forty years later.
Krishna- The Divine Lover
The charm of a God who is more human than godly is depicted through Krishna in his form as a lover. The validity of such characterization in religion is analyzed by making comparisons with modern attitudes towards love.
Are You With Me?
The film gives an insight into the HIV & AIDS scenario in the state of Manipur in northeast India. It travels back in time into the beginnings of injecting drug use and the subsequent spread of the HIV virus, and draws comparisons with today, when awareness is much higher but the task to
combat drug use, HIV & AIDS and the status of widows is formidable. The film focuses on the Manipur Network of Positive People, and its efforts across the entire state in order to combat this deadly virus. The film is centered around people who tell the story of this difficult world in their own words.

30th July :
Touches Of Memory
This mood film without any commentary, is knitted around Tagore's own writings, and visual segments of the places he was associated with.
Invisible One
An overview of the tribal girl child. The focus is on girls in the age-group of 8-12 years, the youngest victims of gender bias. The film profiles a girl child and her immediate group and community on whom she is totally dependent for her status.
Look At My India
After over 20 years, the film revisits those who featured in The Invisible One. It follows Pramod Mathur as he endeavours to track some of the girl children. The journey speaks for itself... and the director aches to move on and re-visit more protagonists from earlier films.

31st July :
Special Flight
The film records the daily life of a deportation centre in Geneva, where around 25 to 30 men are waiting to be sent back. “Back” is not a home, but a place on a map of long obsolete
borders. They all have a choice: submit and you get a regular flight. If not, it’s a special flight with handcuffs, police escort, and violence if necessary. A story about governmental structures and individual hopelessness. Filmmakers Pramod and Neelima Mathur, will be present for discussion post screening.
Director : Fernand Melgar
