Event Description : Debut Solo Art exhibition by Tanish Karmakar.

I, Tanish Karmakar, from my appearance, is your average 16 years old 12th grader, but there is much more to than what meets the eye. As an amateur artist, I know many who presume that either that i would draw something resembling a photograph or I would draw something totally incomprehensible to mankind, what can be easily fall into the so called dubious genre of 'modern art' often casually assuming that art solely exists for art's sake. 

But this 'modern Art', to me has a purpose in our world. It is just not there for art's sake, It exists for evolution. To me, as all things scientific and emperical must resonate of progress, Art must inspire the need to progress. If science is supposed take us forward, Art should point in the right direction. If science evolves our life, art should evolve our mind, and by Art, i mean all the forms of it; paintings, literature, music to be theatrics. But again, besides being thought provoking, art also needs to be relaxing,something to energize you while you take on the challenges of life. Paintings, in particular, are not just mere illustrations to adorn your walls, these, I sincerely hope, are acessories to evolve your psyche. This is my purpose for art.
