Event Description : Project Mausam Monthly Lecture Series presents 'Neglected and Forgotten:Indo-European Defense Architecture in North Konkan (1510 - 1818 A.D.) with special reference to the Vasai and Revdanda Forts by Mayur Babulal Thakare, Circle Officer Former Competent Authority Office (For Archaeological Survey of India, Mumbai Circle)'

This talk is organized by Project Mausam, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (IGNCA) in collaboration with National Monuments Authority (NMA) and India International Centre (IIC).

Project Mausam is an interdisciplinary project initiated by the Ministry of Culture that aims to explore the cultural heritage of coastal settlements along the Indian Ocean, along with various cultural dimensions of the monsoon winds that shaped communications and interactions across the seas. Collating archaeological and historical data, the project will research and celebrate the diversity of cultural, commercial and religious interactions in the Indian Ocean world-- extending from East Africa, the Arabian Peninsula, the Indian subcontinent and Sri Lanka to the Southeast Asian archipelago.
