Event Description : VSK Baithak with Dalia Rahut, Santa Kundu and Kakali Mukherjee.

Rooted in the Gangetic hinterland of our country, melodies of Purab Ang Gayaki are seeped in the aroma of “mitti”, the colours of our seasons and the emotions of a women’s heart. And vitally so, they make an instant connect with its Rasiks. Santa Kundu of Kolkatta and Kakali Mukherjee of Durgapur are two of the young and hugely gifted exponents that were “discovered” during the Purab Ang Gayaki Utsavs. And Dalia Rahut of Kolkatta, a senior Shishya of Girija Devi ji, is an acclaimed exponent of this gayaki apart from being a leading guru of this genre. There can be no more appropriate finale to the music season of 2013 – 14 than an evening of “Purabiya” charm that Santa, Kakali and Dalia Rahut will weave and wrap us in on 10th May 2014. Artists will be accompanied by Jayshanker Mishra on Tabla, Vinay Mishra on Harmonium and Bharat Bhushan ji on sarangi.
