Event Description : The talented mother-son duo, painter Kiran Sandhu and photographer Amar Dev Singh present contemporary art and travel images at an exhibition.
Kiran’s classic landscapes in oils, watercolours and pastels along with Amar’s scintillatingadventure travel photography.
Travel enthusiast, successful artist and a passionate painter, Kiran Sandhu is all set to showcase her art collection at the Visual Art Gallery, India Habitat Center on THE 12th APRIL AT 11.30 am… Giving her company on the same platform is her very accomplished photographer son, Amar Dev Singh, who will also exhibit photographs from the expeditionshe has undertaken across the world.
Kiran and Amar will be presenting their creative workfor the first time in India. Kiran who seeks inspiration from her travels and Amar who clicks through all this treks and expeditions, have already exhibited their works in prominent art galleries all over the world. Interestingly, Kiran is one of the few artists who have developed prints using her iPad drawings apps. She has been lauded by art critics for her unique ability to give a modern edge to a traditional canvas.
Be it the wild beaches of Australia or the classic landscapes of Tuscany, this dynamic mother translates nature and still life into colorful paintings in mixed media, using ink, water colour, acrylics and oils. It’s no wonder that her adventure-loving son, who has already climbed Mt Fuji and Mt Tatayama, also loves to recordhis myriad adventures with his camera.
Kiran is also skilled at embroidery and loves to turn around fabrics. On the other hand, Amar keeps himself occupied with trekking, hitch-hiking, rock-climbing and sailing in the nooks and crannies of the world.
Amar has over 20 years’ of experience organising expeditions and trips to remote and interesting parts of the world such as Kamchatka, the Himalayas, Madagascar, Papua New Guinea, New Caledonia, Japan, the Swiss Alps and the Australian Outback.
A keen writer, Amar’s work has been published in publications like the Himalayan Journal, Australian Geographic, Newsweek, India Today Traveller, Wanderlust, and a host of travel-related websites.
Amar is currently working on projects to explore the remote mountains of the Eastern Himalayas of Arunachal Pradesh, Northern Burma and Yunnan province in China.Kiran is running a successful textile-designing venture in Uttarakhand.
