Event Description : Earth Hour is a unique opportunity for individuals, groups, businesses and governments to do something positive for the environment. It is not just about saving energy for that one hour, but it symbolizes the first step in the direction of adopting environment friendly activities into everyday life, which will lead the way towards a cleaner environment and a sustainable lifestyle.
Pedal for the Planet, powered by Canara HSBC Oriental Bank of Commerce Life Insurance Company, is the signature lead-up event to Earth Hour in partnership with WWF India. Every year since 2009, the cyclothon has been held a week before Earth Hour to give people a chance to contribute towards the campaign and spread the message of Earth Hour. Pedal for the Planet Cyclothon is to tell the world to switch off during Earth Hour 2014! Delhi-ites will be taking to the bicycle track to ask people to pledge to switch off for Earth Hour the next week – 29 March, from 8:30pm-9:30pm - and make planet-friendly choices in their lives, like cycling and carpooling whenever possible. Come, pedal for the planet!
