Event Description : 'Ways of Seeing : Art and Experience' Workshop on India’s Visual Culture Presented by Dr. Geeti Sen, Cultural Historian and Sunil Sethi Design Alliance.
Perspectives of artists changed dramatically in India from the 1960's as they invented a new vocabulary. As an art critic for the Times Of India and then India Today in the 1970’s, I was lucky to witness this transformation and to get to know some of India's celebrated artists and writers. In these talks I hope to share these anecdotes and experiences, as well as my insights on how art changed with changing values. - Dr.Geeti Sen, Curator

Nine talks introducing an interdisciplinary approach to dimensions of India’s visual culture from the 16th to 21st centuries. Topics range from the aesthetics of miniature paintings to the vitality of contemporary art, photography and fashion.
