The film is an exploration into the life of Daisetz Teitaro Suzuki (1870-1966), credited with introducing Zen Buddhism to the West. With his exhaustive knowledge of Eastern and Western religions and philosophies, D.T. Suzuki was highly successful at introducing Japanese philosophy to the West and at influencing Western psychoanalysis, philosophy, religious thinking and the arts.
