Event Description : “Beauty makes us happy”  India through the eyes of a French Sculptor - Christine Margotin.
 The Exhibition, “Beauty makes us happy” as the name suggests celebrates beauty in its purest form….By capturing simple actions of our lives and making us examine them closely, Christine Margotin – a French Sculpture artist highlights the beauty and grace that we often overlook in our everyday life…
The Preview of the Exhibition is on 16thNovember, 2013 (6pm – 9pm). The show continues from 17th to 21stNovember, 2013 in Galerie Romain Rolland, Alliance Française, Lodhi Road, New Delhi.

Christine’s work is figurative and finds inspiration in everyday life.  Her endeavour is to share these everyday moments without the need for articulation. She has selected moments and scenes drawn from daily life and endowed this ordinary “everydayness” with an extraordinary sincerity through her works. The theme for her works is inspired from the moments in life where magic happens, sometimes in surroundings, on the beach or even in the street.

The twenty works of art to be exhibited describe her journey from France to India - A journey she undertook five years ago, a journey that played a pivotal role in transforming her passion into her profession and most importantly a journey that resulted in amalgamation of the French and Indian culture in the form of this exhibition.

“Through my works of art,” Christine says, “I love to bring before my viewers the images that have struck a chord in my heart and the beauty of very ordinary experiences which we often fail to notice in our daily lives.”

This exhibition is Christine’s way of coming to terms with her almost obsessional search for beauty. She understands that beauty equals happiness. Dedicating her sculptures to the beauty of the ordinary, she hopes to give us a few happy moments.
