Event Description : Inaugural session of 'Asia: Speaking to Ourselves' - Asian Media Conference.
The Asian Media Conference (AMC) explores media connectivity in Asia. Why media exchanges in Asia are still dependent on media hubs in New York, London or Paris, leading to homogenization of news content? New media technologies offer never seen before gateways of instant communication. Will a direct and close connectivity of media in Asia strengthen the Asian paradigm of diversity and pluralism, spur the process of physical connectivity, bring about a mindset change and concretize the vision of an Asian Community?
