Event Description : 'Raj, Samaj Aur Paani' Anupam Mishra speaks on the critical importance of the role of state and society in water management in India - battling between droughts and floods.
About the Speaker: Anupam Mishra, Senior Worker, Gandhi Peace Foundation, is a well known Gandhian and has spent decades in the field of environment protection and water conservation. Recipient of Indira Gandhi Priyadarshini Puraskar and Jamnalal Bajaj Award in Science & Technology for Rural Development, he has authored two books on traditional water management and water harvesting systems in India; titled Aaj Bhi Khare Hain Talab (Ponds Are Still Relevant) and Rajasthan Ki Rajat Boonde (The Radiant Raindrops Of Rajasthan). Anupam is an internationally known water activist having worked with a number of national and international organizations. He is working to bridge the gap between modern water management technology and India's heritage of water harvesting, so that every community is self-sustainable and thus, efficiently safekeeping an increasingly scarce and precious resource.
