Mahatma Gandhi Says
My faith is that the progress of Islam does not depend on the use of sword by its believers, but
the result of the supreme sacrifice of Husain, the great saint. Imam Husain, the Grand Son of the Holy Prophet laid down his life along with his 71 companions, at Karbala on 10th of Moharram 61 Hijri, giving lesson to the mankind that even the mightiest of tyrant ruler can be defeated by self sacrifice.
Late Dr. Radha Kishan, former president, great thinker and a philosopher once said, “ Arms are not needed to fight against Adharma (falsehood) if we are prepared to offer sacrifice Like Husain”. An army of 30,000 strong men of Yazeed, the tyrant ruler of Arab, killed Imam Husain and his 71 companions who were kept thirsty and hungry for three continuous days .But even the tyrant ruler couldn’t undo the reformations done by the Holy Prophet .The entire world remembers till date the sacrifices made by Imam Husain.
