Event Description : 'The World-View of the Nyaya-Vaisesika System of Indian Philosophy' a talk by Prof. V.N. Jha, former Director, Centre of Advanced Study in Sanskrit, University of Pune who has written and edited over 50 books.
As part of The Major Schools of Indian Philosophy series.
The Nyaya school is based on the Nyaya Sutras known to be given by Aksapada Gautama. According to Nyaya, there are four sources of knowledge: perception, inference, comparison, and testimony. The Vaisesika school founded by Kanada postulates an atomic pluralism.
