Event Description : Under the aegis of the ongoing Sastra & Prayoga research programme at the IGNCA, Pt. Sarathi Chatterjee will present the salient features of the gayaki of the gharanas he represents. In doing so, he will reflect upon the uniting factors between different gharanas and, at the same time, differences in their style of presentation. Through a chosen repertoire of compositions, he will dwell on the importance of sahitya in Hindustani music which is reflected through bandishes that correspond to the rasa of the raga.
