Event Description : ‘Spectrum’ painting exhibition by Sujata Agrawal.
This is the shift away from the overtly spiritual to a more contemporary and every day look. The work reflects the human race and its chores. I tried to contextualise “her” symbols in to a current day format in a seamless manner and also depicts intrinsic rhythm in figures that creates the image of a swirl with in which the figures are enveloped. My paintings are images of the nature and its beauty. In my image of “Earth” the mother principle is given a new twist, she is a feminine form bearing on her head the water pot and a silent sufferer in fiery hues as contamination of her precious resources with a sign of hope, greenery of the earth. I believe in bright colours and bold strokes.
