Event Description : VSK Baithak's Purab Ang Gayaki Utsav Puruskar Baithaks.
We lit a small spark last year-a spark of hope that a heritage which was receding into shadows could be brought centre stage. The spark that we lit last year- Purab Ang Gayaki Utsav -is now happily a flame-a flame fuelled by the efforts and the love of the music fraternity, exponents, and  Rasiks across the country. This year, 6 Baithaks of the Purab Ang Gayaki Utsav 2012-13 were held in Delhi, Kolkata and Varanasi from September 12 through to December 12. They featured 24 artistes, highlighting the joyous fact that this Gayaki is slowly re emerging and flowering with warmth. Every participant and every Rasik who came not only contributed, but also derived immense joy.
Of the 24 young exponents, who sang at these Baithaks, 8 adjudged  the best  by leading exponents of this  Gayaki, who acted as the “Margdarshaks”, have been invited to sing at the Girija Devi Puruskar Baithaks  at Delhi on evenings of  15th & 16th  March 2013 at WWF Building, Lodhi Estate, New Delhi -3.  This will be followed by the announcement and conferring of 3 Girija Devi Puruskars, Sarvotam Kalakar,  Viksit Kalakar and Ankurit Kalakar  on the evening of  Sunday 17th March. On 17th March there will also be a Recital by Girija Devi ji, in the nature of a Mahaprasad for all the participants and the Rasiks.
 The Maha Yagna –the Final Puruskar Baithaks of the Purab Ang Gayaki Utsav 2012-13 Girija Devi Puruskars on 15th , and 16th March 2013 at  Delhi will feature the following 8 finalists of the initial 24 participants
