Opening with Shiva- Presenting different facets of Shiva in Creative Bharatanatyam Choreography by Sankhya Dance Company, Mumbai. Choreography: Vaibhav Arekar. Followed by Chaturmukhi- capturing the mood and expression of different rural art forms, the four part compositions are strung together in conventional Marga of Odishi Dance. Presented by Odissi Vission Movement Centre, Kolkata. Choreography: Sharmila Biswas
21st March :
The Swami And The Samaritan (English)
Directors : Dr. Ashish Ghosh and Ruma Ghosh
A play on the role of two powerful personalities- Swami Vivekananda and Margaret Noble who later came to be known as Sister Nivedita.
Producer : ANANT, New Delhi.
Followed by Sarpa Sutra
A dance theatre woven through story-telling, music and dance, the production unfolds sequences from the Epic Mahabharata. The script blends verses in English and Sanskrit. Presented by Just Us Repertory, Chennai.
Direction: Gowri Ramanarayan
22nd March : Ram- A non-verbal experimental theatre using excerpts from Bhavbhuti Ramayana, narrated through music, dance, masks and puppets by Katkatha Puppet Arts Theatre, New Delhi. Direction: Anurupa Roy.
Followed by She - Tales Of Ancient Goddesses- a production in Kathak Dance style dedicated to the mystery of the power of feminine principles of the universe and deals with six female deities from the time of Rig Veda, each presenting a force of nature and aspects of human emotions and divine spirits.
