Event Description : 'An Art Apart – Say it with flowers' an exhibition of hand painted porcelain and beautifully crafted glass mosaics by Manju Sinha.

Manju Sinha has held several solo exhibitions in London, New York, Mumbai and New
Delhi which have attracted rave reviews. Her exquisite pieces of this amazing art include
vases, lamps, wall murals etc. Sinha draws her inspiration from nature and her work displays
wonderful flora, fauna and landscapes from around the world. She also brings a touch of her
Indian heritage with depictions of Buddha, Krishna and Ganesha in her work.

With each one of her exhibitions in India and abroad, Sinha has aimed to convey the essential
flavour of her work and to enrich appreciation of porcelain decorating and glass mosaic.
“My canvas is white porcelain of various sizes and shapes in the form of vases, wall
plates, lamps, bowls, trays and even the humblest, mug.”

At first a light wash of colour is applied on the porcelain. It is then fired in a kiln at 780
degrees centigrade. Deeper shades of colour are added subsequently and fired again. One
piece could take several firings before it is finally ready.

Her recent interest in glass mosaics is an extension of her versatility as an artist. Sinha has
depicted the lotus image in beautifully framed glass mosiacs using a multitude of colour.An
ideal acquisition for a modern day home or hotels and restaurants.
