Event Description : 'Confluence 2013' An event that celebrates the convergence of various design disciplines in delivering wholesome built environments. 

Confluence 2013 represents the coming together of two of the most consequential design professions for our urban habitats – Urban Design and Landscape Architecture. Together, they constitute the primary design spectrum towards shaping the physical environments of our habitations. While built form and open space comprise the fundamental units of our physical environment, the above professions focus on the creation and preservation of positive form-space settings for the making of healthy living environments. Together, the Urban Designer and Landscape Architect offer wholesome, creative solutions to a wide range of contemporary demands from our society contributing significantly to the natural and human dimensions of our living habitats. In this partnership, the issues affecting our natural and built environment in all scales of their existence and interaction, gets simultaneously addressed for a more livable, meaningful future ahead. Confluence 2013 will bring to light this potent combination of the two disciplines revolving around current concerns and opportunities of today’s urban and natural landscapes across various scales of engagement and practice.
Confluence 2013 is envisaged as the starting point of a set of interactive discourses around diverse confluences – environment and development, nature and habitation, design and society, academia and practice, policy makers and stake-holders……. apart from the stated confluence of the two disciplines of Urban Design and Landscape Architecture. Across the country, this multi-faceted platform of Confluence would generate, enliven, strengthen and nurture collective dialogue on our directional choices and consequent manifestations as we move on.
