Event Description : Lodi - The Garden Restaurant presents 'TRI-P'
Tri-P is a project bent on experimentation and musical exploration, with the objective of presenting to the audience a new perspective on live music. Simple pop and folk tunes are followed by long musical journeys. Trying to give music a life of its own, the duo is keen on improvisation, thus making each performance a unique one.
Formed in Delhi in 2010, the band toured and recorded in France two years in a row (2010 and 2011), played its first show in India at the Wills Fashion Week in Delhi (2010), then at the Escape Music Festival (Naukuchiyatal 2011). Tri-P also performed in Pune and Mumbai in 2012.
Tri-P was started in the summer of 2010 by Paul and Tritha, two seasoned musicians yearning to do something different. They were soon playing a show in a Parisian art gallery (Goutte de Terre) and, liking it very much, decided to bring
the band to India.
Tritha has been training as a classical singer for the past 20 years. Before meeting Paul she had been experimenting with music in Calcutta’s Black Coffee, and S P A C E before going to form her own band, Tritha Electric, which became a regular item India’s growing festival scene (Escape, Ragasthan, Gulmarg Winter Festival, Ziro Music Festival, etc…). She recently released her first album Live at Zorba, available musicfellas.com.
Paul recorded his first song when he was only 12, and went on to become a producer in Paris before moving to India three years ago. Since then he has toured India as a sound engineer for Advaita, Faridkot and Menwhopause and is currently playing drums with Tritha’s own band Tritha Electric, as well as with Jasbir Jassi, Mindflew, Lahore’s Laal and Delhi’s Menwhopause.
