OBJECTIVE
The Indian education systems, be it at primary or at higher levels, is under constant moderations. The government under the dynamic leadership of our beloved Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh has had many initiatives for skill promotion and up gradations in our human resources development schemes in the past years. There were many daunting tasks although before the former HRD Minister Hon’ble Dr Kapil Sibal, yet he sailed over by introducing many innovative schemes at every stages and levels of our entire education process including reducing the drop outs at the primary levels, introducing mid day meals the schools, adult education, rationalizing examinations at entrance levels for engineering, medical, management and other professional education and introducing public private partnership schemes etc. These are just a few to name.
The National Competitive Manufacturing Policy (NCMP) has a plan of adding 300 million skilled manpower by 2025 which will be required to push the GNP growth at double digit by that time. It is in view of this that our HRD policy be more proactive to create enough skills to match that level projected by the NCMP. In the process, we need to focus more on quality than quantity and hence there is need for reorientation of our HRD policy and programmes at every levels. Both Center and the States should play complimentary roles to achieve this target and aims.
We are pretty confident and sure, that these programmes are achievable under the guidance and proactive engagements of educationist and the policy makers.
In view of the above, PDI organizing this conference to discuss on each and every aspects of Education on the seminar “National Education Policy – A New Paradigms” on 23rd January, 2013 at New Delhi to deliberate on a variety of issues connected with the subject. We have also invited HRD Minister, Secretary Education, Eminent educationists, experts, institutions connected with primary, secondary, technical, engineering, medical, management & vocational, Vice Chancellors of Universities to discuss these burning issues.
