Artist’s Statement:
Hampi
All my paintings represent Hampi temples, a place to frequent regularly because its intricate carvings, it architecture and the play of light and shadow on the temples evoked a fascination in me.
My representation of the temples, people and nature around it has gradually evoled, which i am sure will continue to do because i perceive something different and new every time i visit standing monumental carved relies from the past.
The temples and the surrounding nature they are ensconced in, my natural surroundings and events occurring in it fill me with joy, which i duly express in my work. The application of colors to technique and composition has varied with time.it seems as it every stone is a piece of art in this place. If an artist desires to paint HAMPI and the monuments there in, it will be his life time mission. A noted art critic Percy Brown has described Vijayanagar structures as the most developed examples od Dravidian Style.
Lord Buddha
The word Buddha in Sanskrit means‘to be awakened’... I had always loved to paint faces.
So, combining that lifelong interest with my ever-growing spiritual study, meditation, and
practice of yoga, I have felt completely right. It has stimulated both my spirit and imagination to apply the formal aspects of painting to this deeply meaningful subject. I seek to depict the Buddha’s energy and spirit, reflecting how the spirit of his teachings are alive for us even today. And most important, I attempt to convey the idea that beneath the chaotic pace of our modern lives, there exists the possibility for inner peace and transcendence.

At moments Ganesh P Doddamani works with tell signs and symbols. For instance we have the prime subject a national flag with its face to the world . this is a work that sends out signals to would be perceptive viewers. This genre is a little playful but chaste. It suggests that the moments in life are vast and varied and that we may not lay down in fright. It says that let us garnish our life with salts of various cultures.

The divine world of Hampi, tha land of Vijayanagar empire’s timeless glory is perceived in the landscapes of Ganesh Doddamani. They are an architectural articulation of beauty and the unworldly mysticism.
