Event Details : Art shows for the week are as follows : 

- ‘Fusion’ An exhibition of 3D artefacts depicting traditional Indian folk and tribal arts by Hansa Nyati. The work is related to the tribal art & part of the proceedings from this show would be donated for this cause & to the underprivileged children of the society.

- A solo art show by Devika Gamkhar -Installation, Paintings, Lithographs, and Film
Devika's comments : Samasta is my first solo art show.
It is my reflection on a range of human emotions and social issues that touch our lives every day - for example, Domestic Violence, Disability and Hope.
In most of my works I use traditional materials (“mitti”, terracotta, powder colours made from flowers, fibres), processes and techniques. The exhibition will feature an Installation, Paintings, Lithographs, and Film.
Saanjhi - Traditional Kalakaar, is a tribute to the traditional artists of India. The film is written, produced, and directed by me.
The installation Life in slow motion, is a bed with three rows of artworks placed on it, and lead on either end of the bed. The lead depicts traction. This autobiographical recall, hopes to extend some thought beyond my incident.
For the past 14 years, I have worked in art, media and film in Canada, the US and India. I have a BFA (major in Film Production) from Concordia University in Montreal, Canada.
