Born in July, 1979, studied Masters in Drawing & Painting from Banasthali Vidyapith
(2000). I did a Postgraduate Diploma in Creative Graphics (2001) and hold a Certificate
Course in Fresco Painting at Banasthali Vidhyapith, Rajasthan. (1999-2000). I had received
National Scholarship for working in print making (2003-04), awarded by the HRD, Ministry
of culture Govt. of India. I have had several exhibitions both solo and group shows across
the country and internationally. Besides attending various paintings & graphics camps at
national level in India I also attended camps at the Royal Haga Park, Stockholm, organized
by TellusArt.
My recent Solo “The Contemporary Walk” at Galleri Tersaeus, Stockholm, Sweden, 2012,
has received good reviews and I am particular about sharing my work with my Indian
audience, hence my ongoing solo at the Habitat Centre will be one of many.
“Lunar Landscape: where earth meets sky-fall” is my fourth Solo Show besides other
participations in National and International art events.

Georgina Maddox, an Independent Art Critic-Curator says :
“The orb in Nisha’s work, in most instances possesses the astral calm of night; in fact it is the tranquil beauty of the moon rather than the blazing reds of a brighter star like the sun that the artist seems to evoke in her current suite of works. When a supernova of colour does explode onto the canvas, the calm that follows this explosion is contained within the grids and circles that the artist intuitively constructs her work around.
For this exhibition, Nisha presents a suite of 25 works in various sizes. The canvases
are primed with texture white before the artist begins her process and while each canvas
is planned through sketches and preparatory drawings, the final magic takes place
spontaneously as she is working on the actual canvas.
