Panelists : Prof Krishna Kumar, Central Institute of Education; Shri Shakti Maira, sculptor; Ms Dipti Sharma, art teacher, Shikshantar School, Gurgaon; and Ms Janani Iyer, teacher, Shri Ram School, Gurgaon.
Commemorating the birth anniversary of Shri Devi Prasad, whose book, Art, the Basis of Education, saw art education as a revolutionary tool in that it teaches the use of one’s acumen, resources and hands so as to foster self-reliance and respect for labour, sharpens observation and planning skills, and helps uncover psychological states.
