The story revolves around the mistaken straying (due to a car accident which also caused him to suffer amnesia) of Chanderprakash into the Pakistani side of Kashmir from his own home in Srinagar but actually shot in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. With him falls in love a native girl Henna, amidst the controversial Indian-Pakistani tension on Kashmir which leads him to be suspected by the Pakistani police of being an Indian spy.
The movie was a hit, especially for the locations it was shot in and the excellent musical score by Ravindra Jain that included hit songs like "Main Hoon Khush Rang", "Anaaradana" and "Der Na Ho Jaaye Kahin". The Pakistan part of the film was shot in Kashmir.
17th Mon : Prem Granth (Hindi/1996/156mins) Dir.Randhir Kapoor Cast: Rishi Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit, Anupam Kher
Somen, a lawyer and son of head priest Swami Dharam Bhushan Maharaj, is a man with a very strong character and courage of conviction. He believes in the principles of equality and freedom and often confronts his father on issues of social justice and religion. He especially disapproves of Kedar Nath, who uses his father's clout to exploit the treasury in the temple. His uncle Nandlal owns a prosperous dairy farm and keeps himself away from the affairs of religion and social obligations, citing them as unjust and outdated.
Somen meets a beautiful young woman Kajri at the annual festival and is drawn towards her at first sight — her lower social caste notwithstanding — and that becomes the dawn of their love. They part unexpectedly, leaving the fire of love burning in Somen. He tries his best to find Kajri but in vain.
18th Tue Do Dooni Chaar (Hindi/2010/120mins) Dir.Habib Faisal Cast: Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh
Life can be tough for a man who teaches at a school for a living, lives in a DDA flat in Lajpat Nagar, Delhi and is coping with the double digit inflation rates and single digit increments in his salary. Add to that, a teenage daughter, a fast-track son and a wife who loves the good life. The life of the Duggals is passing by in simply taking care of the basics. Until one day, they decide to dream. Their ticket to dreaming comes in the form of a wedding invitation. An innocent little wedding invitation. What follows is a journey of chaos, realizations, calculations, confrontations and bonding. This crazy Duggals family will fight it out at home (and the neighborhood) for what they think is a ‘good buy’ for the family!
The film won the 58th National Film Award for the Best Feature Film in Hindi. The movie also marks the return of the Kapoor pair as a lead couple on the silver screen. Although the duo has not acted in a film in over 30 years, they had previously acted in numerous hits during the 1970s.
19th Wed Agneepath (Hindi/2012/167mins) Dir.Karan Malhotra Cast: Hrithik Roshan, Rishi Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra, Om Puri
