Letters by Alys Faiz & Faiz Ahmed Faiz 

Directed by Salima Raza
Salima Raza is closely associated with theatre, radio and television for over the last 50 years. She has graced all these arenas as an actor, compere and director.  A recipient of many ‘best actress’ awards for her stage performances, Raza devotes her time to meaningful theatre activities. These are often related to social issues besides being of assistance to the disabled. Raza is passionate about reviving Urdu language and literature and she ardently encourages today’s youth to do so.

‘A surprise element was the presence of Faiz's daughter Moneeza Hashmi in the audience during the staging of Chand Roz Aur Meri Jaan. An overwhelmed Hashmi said that the world knew Faiz, but did not know Alys who kept their family together. She thanked Raza for depicting the deep love of her parents through letters she had never had the courage to read. "Through all the struggle and separation, they never lost their romantic love for each other, or their sense of humour," Raza says.’
