Event Details : The High Commission of Canada and India International Centre cordially invite you to enjoy "Canada Diverse", film screenings throughout the month of June 2012.
15 June 2012 : 6:30 pm: Incendies(2010)
Director: Denis Villeneuve; French with English subtitles,  130 minutes.
Their mother's last wish sends the siblings Jeanne and Simon, on a journey to the Middle East in search of their tangled roots.  Nominated for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film and winner of eight Genies, including Best Motion Picture.

Canada Diverse : Canada is a nation of immigrants, with one in five Canadians born outside of the country.  These films are stories of this rich ethnic diversity – whether it is a search for roots (Incendies) or coming to grips with the past (Monsieur Lazar) or searching ways to preserve a heritage (Carry Me Home, Men of the Deeps). There's also snapshots of Jewish Montreal, as seen through the eyes of the late great novelist Mordecai Richler (Barney's Version) or glimpses of the "mainstream" cultures of Vancouver (Love and Other Dilemmas) and Montreal (Sticky Fingers).
