A practising lawyer, Mark Damisch has performed all over the world for charities and to help people “learn from each other’s differences.” He is accompanied on this tour by his daughters and niece.
He will play from Chopin’s Ballades and Etudes; Debussy’s Golliwog’s Cakewalk, inspired by the dance in which slaves parodied white manners through struts and kicks; and works by Aaron Copland: Billy the Kid, which reworks folk melodies to evoke the desolate prairie and lively frontier town; El Salón México, inspired by the “electric sense” of “live contact” with Mexican people; and Rodeo
