Event Details : Indian Youth Climate Network (IYCN) presents 'Pedal Soldier Of India' documentary film screening.
The rickshaw has always been a source of political and ideological debate. They are seen from the outside as being exploited but the rickshaw-wallas do not necessarily share same opinion. The movie meanders around the issues of rickshaw-waalas, their livelihood and role with commuters. It also reflects upon the sociology of India with a focus on its democracy, drawing analogies from its roads. Screening followed by panel discussion on Innovations In Rickshaw Economy Panelists: Rajendra Ravi, Director, Institute of Democracy and Sustainability; Navdeep Asija, Founder Eco-Cabs; Ravee Ahluwalia, Founder, Patiala Green Cabs. Rickshaw drivers will also be present on the occasion to share their experiences.
