Showing pop aesthetes during World War I, Serge Bozon has decided to claim his difference
with La France.

A young woman, Camille, after having received an unexplained breakup letter from her
husband left for the front, decides to join him, disguising herself as a man. Along her way,
she encounters a troop of soldiers and accompanies them for their long march.
World War I is here almost an excuse for mentioning something else. For example, what
binds a group or a couple together, and how you can leave the first for the second. The
soldiers also grab some unusual self-made instruments and perform a kind of hybrid little
song, a mix of archaism and sophistication.
What represents this group of vagabond soldiers? It is very tempting to see here
disenchanted activists or smugglers, a band of film buffs or a rock band.

Language : All films are screened with English subtitles

Director : Serge Bozon

Year : 2007

Duration : 102 min

Theme for the Month is 'Ciné - Club June : Musique !' : On the occasion of World Music day, June 21st, the world celebrates music through its many different dimensions and forms and within the framework of these festivities, the selection of our Ciné - Club for the month of June will explore the very old and strong existing links between cinema and music. Inextricably linked to the history of cinema, music is a protean companion of cinematographic art. Indeed it has not only worked in an illustrative function and as an additional narrative support, highlighting the emotions, being sometimes in front of them or echoing them, but has also been able to modify the reception of spectators,
because of its presence. For all these reasons, don’t hesitate to come and see many versions of an amazing couple: Image & Sound!
