Every Saturday, at the unusual hour of 4:30pm, Grossman's Tavern, a pub on Spadina Avenue in Toronto, is the scene of a true New Orleans jazz party. The band, The Happy Pals, by the legendary Kid Bastien is based on the music and philosophy of Thomas Valentine. They follow an easy rule- play simple music to entertain the people and make them happy. The documentary is the history of their 40 years of playing at the same time same place.
