Event Details : Film Buffs of Delhi (FBD) presents the following Film Screenings :
1. SHORT FILM - Printed Rainbow (15 mins - Gitanjali Rao) - This film went on to premier in Cannes in 2006 and won the first set of laurels with three Awards for the Best Short film in Critic's Week, Cannes 2006. Then followed 22 international awards and screenings in over a hundred international festivals.
2. FEATURE FILM - Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (95 mins - Stanley Kubrick)
Directed by the legendary Stanley Kubrick, the film is a black comedy that satirizes the nuclear scare. It has Peter Sellers in an Oscar nominated triple role.
The film is often ranked by critics and directors amongst the greatest comedies of all time, and was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry. In 2000, readers of Total Film magazine voted it the 24th greatest comedy film of all time. It is ranked number 21 in the All-Time High Scores chart of Metacritic's Video/DVD section with an average score of 96, and is currently ranked the 35th greatest film of all time at the Internet Movie Database. It is also listed as number 26 on Empire's 500 Greatest Movies of All Time.
3. SHORT FILM - An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge (28 mins - Robert Enrico) - is a 1962 French short film based on the short story of the same name by Ambrose Bierce. It won awards at the Cannes Film Festival and the Academy Awards.
