Event Details : Chhaon Theatre Group presents 'Ek Aur Dronacharya' Hindi Play.
The playwright wants to show through his play that even the ethical person who can normally differentiate the right from wrong, is trapped by the established work system and has to ignore his ethics and abide by the system.
This is a story of a college professor, who catches the son of the college president, while he was cheating in the examination. However, he is forced to take back his complaint and let go of the culprit because of the pressures from his own home and the college authorities. He is shown to be helpless against the system.
The playwright compares this professor’s situation with the ‘Guru Dronacharya’ of the Kauravas and Pandavas who is a true and legendary teacher. But is helpless when it comes to support the truth and defy the established system.
However, in this play the playwright also emphasizes that no matter what the pressure, one needs to stand his moral grounds. Otherwise, he’d have to face the consequences like our protagonist Professor Arvind does and guru Dronacharya did in his times – thousands years ago – in the epic story of the ‘Mahabharat’
Directed by : Hemant Raipuria
The play – ‘Ek Aur Dronaocharya’ was written by Shankar Shesh
