Event Details : A Solo Show of Paintings by Nira Davar.
Nira’s artworks project the daily life around her. Her compositions have their own distinctive quality with an ambience of their own. Her paintings reveal a spontaneity that is conceived and dealt with creative sensibility.
In her works, Nira builds up the compositions with creativity and a rythm where the end result is left to the viewer’s imagination. Her paintings display the different moods of the artist that she derives from her own experiences and the life around her.
Nira handles colours delicately, making her works portray a harmonious balance between the surroundings and the figures in her paintings.
Her recent works show a continuing concern with the permutations of the inside outside equation. There are differing presentations of the inside out and outside in. However, this exhibition, her fourth solo, reflects about her essential concern with colour form and texture, using their interplay to create a luminious three-dimensional world in two dimensional space. It is a world that is both outside and at the same time inside the artist providing her an ongoing concern for her painting, while at the same time giving the viewer different points of reference to relate to each work as a unique journey.
The artist has studied art at Triveni Kala Sangam under Rameshwar Broota and has been painting for over a decade. She has participated in a number of solo and group exhibitions.
Nira Davars works are in the collection of art lovers in India and abroad.
The artist lives and works from her studio in South Delhi.
