Vidyasagar Institute of Mental Health & Neurosciences (Vimhans) is known as an institute , which is has established itself as a premier institution serving people from its inception in the year 1984 and in a short period of 25 years has become a reckonable and respectable name in the areas of mental health and allied specialties in North India.
Vimhans’ as part of its social responsibilities, organizes regular outreach and interactive programmes throughout the year on various topics og general interest for the common people and we have been organizing these programmes continuously and dedicatedly for the last three years and these have been received with great applause and enthusiasm by the people attending these preprogrammed series.
This has encouraged us to take things forward with a very frequently and commonly faced challenge- STRESS.
This is a two part series focusing on:
STRESS- WHAT IT DOES TO YOU?
WHAT YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT?
You might want to attend this workshop because you or someone close to you is overwhelmed by stress.
You are not alone – every year several million days are lost in India due to stress and stress related illnesses. It also accounts for around 70 % of visits to Doctors.
Stress can ruin people’s lives- it can make them ill, disrupt their relationships and make them unable to work, resulting in lost relationships and diminished self esteem. It is important to understand why the pace of modern day living has so many negative effects on us and to learn how by taking precautionary measures we can minimize the effect of stress, whether it comes from work or personal lives.
People are more open, than they were 50 years ago, when stress was seldom mentioned. It is now more common to talk about how you feel.
In the upcoming two part series, we aim to approach and focus on the following aspects related to stress- :
Learn about stress – What it is? How to identify it?
Understand its impact on body and mind.
Ways to reduce stress and deal with it.
Identifying our vulnerability to stress and coping mechanisms.
THIS PROGRAMME INTENDE TO BE HIGHLY PARTICIPATIVE
These are free interactive programmes and its theme is to generate better awareness about routine yet delicate issues that can make a positive change in your overall personality and enhance your family and workplace life tremendously.
