Event Details : Jindal Global law School and Alliance Française de Delhi is proud to present a special screening of the film ‘Spring in the Colony’.
The film captures the way in which cityscapes and people are getting altered around in Calcutta because of rapid urbanization, and ways in which those who experiences depicted in the film will have resonances with any major city in the world, be it Paris, New York or Rio.
It is awarded as the Best Feature film of 11th New York Indian Film Festival directed by Arjun Gourisaria and Moinak Biswas. The film is on the contrary start with a portion of the city (Kolkata here) which perennially looks back and holds on to certain values which are post-partition.
The film will introduce by the Director, Moinak Biswas. Then follow up the screening with a Q&A and a conversation between the director and Prof. Brinda Bose from the Department of English at Delhi University.
