Cardiovascular diseases are the commonest cause of death globally. During the last 20 years a large decline in mortality from CVD has been observed in developed nation but a substantial increase has been experienced by developing nation like India. It is estimated that India has largest burden of Cardio Vascular Disease (60 per cent) in the world more so in younger population. Rapid urbanization and industrialization leads to affluence and adoption of unhealthy life style such as tobacco consumption, sedentary habits, increase intake of saturated fats and increase in psycho social stress. Lifestyle modification and appropriate pharmacotherapy can control these risk factors and thereby prevent Heart attacks and its epidemic in future
