The Mohan Khokar Dance Collection is hailed to be India's largest dance holding by world bodies like Lincoln Centre, New York, UNESCO CCID, Paris and Stockholm Dance Museum. Thanks to ICCR's enlightened patronage, India and the world will see this for the first time.

At HABITAT,Delhi, in 7000 sq ft, 5 ´spaces are being created.
The 5 galleries will showcase:
1.Nataraja (objects, statues, textiles, matchboxes, stamps, visiting cards)
2. A Century of Indian Dance 1901-2000 to see how Indian dance forms -classical, folk, modern-ritual, film - have evolved thru photos taken by the Collector Mohan Khokar (over 2 lakh in his lifetime). To be Opended by Km Leela Samson
3. Dance In Everyday Life: advertising, Pencils, ghee tins, firecrackers. Honours by Shantaji
4.artefacts: paintings, sketches, etchings done by masters like shiavax chavda
5. Costume of all major form performed live by 7 dancers each rep one style inaugurated by our esteemed Foreign Sect, now also Ambassador designate to USA. DG of ICCR will release the catalogue and host a reception.
All major names are gracing the occasion: Gurus Yamini Krishnamurthi, Birju Maharaj, Raja Reddy, Singhajit Singh-Charu Mathur, Saswati Sen,Pratibha Prahlad, Shovana Naraian, Yog Sunder, Jayaram Rao, and many national icons flying in: Km.Leela Samson, Chairman Sangeet Natak Akademi from Madras; Dr.
Kanak Rele from Mumbai,, Daksha Sheth from Trivandrum, Gajendra Panda from Bhubaneswar, Uttara Coorlawala from New York, Parul Shah from Baroda plus all Delhi youngsters like Ambika Paniker, Kabita Behra, Payal Ramchandani, Rama Vaidyanathan, Navtej Johar , Shashidharan Nair...
Nadaswaram notes will welcome all and yakshagana performance at entrance. / main styles will be danced to show costumes...Murlimohan (Kathak), Satya Raju (Bharatanatyam), Madhulita Mohapatra (Orissi),
Probal Gupta (Kathakali) and Payal Ramchandani (Kuchipudi), Shashidharan Nair (Chhau).
Dr. Karan Singh, scholar-patron and President ICCR opens. Foreign Secretary, now Ambasasdor designate to USA is Chief Guest while ICCR DG is host. Dr.. L.Subramaniam has done music, A.Z. Ranjit has designed and I have conceived and curated the whole show.
Exhibition in Delhi is first-ever and national curtain raiser before it travel sto USA (10 cities) France and Italy. Next year to UK, Germany, Spain and Poland.
A travelling version of the Exhibition will then be shown in USA, France and Italy in August-September 2011 and Canada, U.K., Germany, Spain and Poland in 2012.
