Event Details : Groove Music Forum invites you to an enchanting evening of pure musical magic, to commemorate the birth anniversary of arguably the greatest icon of Hindustani classical music, late Padmabhushan Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan, the 20th Century Tansen.
We are honoured to have his grandson, Ustad Raza Ali Khan, himself a leading exponent of the Kasur Patiala gharana, render for us a part of the great man’s legacy. Razaji will also present an interactive cross-cultural session with the famous jazz pianist, Pradyumna Singh Manot. Other noted exponents joining the session will be sarangi player, Murad Ali Khan and renowned sitarist, Fateh Ali Khan, with their band, Soul Samvaad, violin maestro, Sharat Chandra Shrivastava, and Astitva, a leading multi-genre fusion band.
The event chooses to propagate the ideology of the greatness of music, which transcends genres when it hovers above a certain level of greatness.

The evening shall also showcase the talent of the bright young musicians who constitute Flying Teapot, a jazz-funk fusion band , who are an intrinsic part of Groove Music Forum, an unique musical facility that has been formulated for the revival of rich musical forms, namely Indian Classical Music and Jazz, both infinite in terms of content and richness, both totally free flowing and exploratory, and yet bound by a strong set of definitive parameters, that make them precise music forms. It is not a coincidence that so many of the greatest musicians of these two genres world-wide have interacted over time and created unbelievable music together.
Our evening shall also have artist Debopriya paint a portrait of Ustad Bade Ghulam Khan Sahab, live, while the show goes on.
We shall conclude the show through a dance recital by Annesha Choudhury, to pay tribute to the great man.
