Event Details : 'Pauses and Punctuations' A Contemporary Art Show by Heena Arora
Pauses and Punctuations, is an expression by Heena Arora who brings amazing art to life through her vivid imagination. In the words of Keshav Malik, a well known art critic:“It is how she has been trying to create her pictorial mode. Her 'inspiration' stemming from the 'sleeping' mind, her technique itself is the fruit of many years of work and study. She has learnt her lessons not only from veteran artists, but also by being in touch with the child mind, while teaching them. Her work therefore is not illustrative, but rather like theirs -- punctuation marks, and pauses, as are the movements of their dancing steps, and waving hands.”
Heena Arora herself defines her art as “Dreams, fantasies and transformation, human forms amalgamating with god’s creation. Innocent new born, vulnerable like blossoms beginning their journey of existence, vivid hues depicting various emotions & bold textures like the complexities of survival; Figures changing its form into mermaids, butterflies and flowers creating a distinctive aura in these surreal creatures; Moths in abstract surroundings, surpassing their boundaries as an Insect.
The revelation is mostly acquired by nature from which the metamorphosis takes place in my subconscious mind, twirls into oil on canvas. In my works realism merges with imagination where the forms I conceive appear alive.”
“Pauses and Punctuations” announces the coming of a new contemporary style to the portals of Indian Art.
