Event Details : Chawla Art Gallery presents Annual art exhibition 2011.
Participating Artists : Jayasri Burman, Manu Parekh, Paramjit Singh, Paresh Maity, Satish Gujral, Shipra Bhattacharya, Surya Prakash, Prodosh Das Gupta, amongst others.
Chawla Art Gallery announces its annual Group Show with its manifold works. The appeal and scope of today’s art and its gestures are universal. Art is, but an expressions of human imagination. Thus, a conscious effort is made by the gallery not to restrict the creativity of the participating artists with any particular theme.
The show is a platform for up & coming artists, like Mukul Mishra and also an opportunity for the viewer to view works of masters, like Satish Gujral & Ram Kumar. The viewer can figure out his or her own preferences. Works of artists are strongly representative of the world of Indian art, not borrowing from beyond the shores, as seen in the works of Jayasri Burman, Paresh Maity and Sanjay Bhattacharya. Works of artists like, K.S Radhakrishnan and Ankit Patel fascinate the viewer with their bronze sculptures, dealing in human forms & human truths. The show is a statement of the evolving taste in Indian Art. Unlike fashion, art does not get outdated and we find a lot of artists continuing their previous styles. The show is an opportunity for a viewer to select from paintings, sculptures & photography. There is a mix of figurative & abstract and some works with a surrealist feel, and the other’s inspired by tribal & folk art.
Displaying works of quality with lasting value has always been the effort of the gallery to retain the great amount of good will it has from the community of art lovers. The show with its portfolios of artworks will revolve around the spirit of balance between the masters and the promising.
