Event Description : MUSIC : A week of overwhelming Jazz

Schedule : 

27th March – Monday – Play it by Ear
Play It By Ear is an acoustic duo: Martin and Samir. Their music is based around original lyrics with fingerpicking acoustic guitar.  After meeting in college and years playing in the same and different bands later, they decided to put all their songs into an album. After a year of gigging, accompanied by four competition wins, they decided to go full time professional, and released their first album - Flicker Flicker Flash - in March 2016, and are now working on new material, some of which will be debuted at this show. 

28th March – Tuesday – Akash Vincent
Akash Vincent is a singer-songwriter living in New Delhi. He started his musical training on drums, which he played throughout high school and college. He first felt drawn to songwriting during sessions with his college band. He is currently recording his second EP; songs from which he performed live on Sarthak Cafe radio show on 94.3FM in January 2016. The EP is being co-produced by Nikhil and is scheduled for release in early 2017.

29th March – Wednesday – Mathias Durand
Mathias Durand is a singer songwriter born in France in 1983. He joined Tritha Electric in 2012 and since then they tour in Europe, India and Africa. He is now preparing a solo album, L'Arbre, to come in fall 2016, as well as one album with Tritha Electric and one with Santanu Bandyopadhyay.

30th March – Thursday – Mrs. Ippi
Mrs. Ippi (Ipshita Roy) is a performing artist, who has been performing in India since 2009, and played across the country. She started her professional career with her band “Big Bang Blues,” and now has moved on to create her own solo identity as “Mrs.Ippi” which includes repertoire inspired by traditional Blues, Soul and Rnb. Her band titled ‘Mrs.Ippi Madhouse’, features session musicians. 

31st March – Friday – Blue Breakfast
Blue Breakfast, started in 2008 by Adhiraj Mustafi, is now a song-writing outfit, supported at different times by some stellar musicians. Blue Breakfast’s music references acoustic folk, rock & pop, and jazz & blues genres. 
Current Line up includes: 
Adhiraj Mustafi: Vocals and Acoustic guitar 
Anant Dayal: Accordion and Vocals 
Anisha Uppal: Piano and Vocals 
Vignesh Iyer: Electric Guitar 
Barun Sinha: Electric Bass 
Akhil Kumar: Drums.

1st April – Saturday - Sylvain Rifflet
Sylvain Rifflet was trained by Pascal Dupont then Michel Goldberg and Philippe Portejoie and is a graduate of the Paris Conservatoire National de Musique. He performs with many renowned jazz musicians such as Riccardo Del Fra, Michel Portal, Aldo Romano, Joey Baron and Hermeto Pascoal... and with orchestras like Francois Jeanneau’s Pandemonium, the European Jazz Youth Orchestra, Le Sacre du Tympan and the Orchestre National deJazz.  

2nd April – Sunday - AprilFoolChild
Catch some of Delhi's finest jazz cats and some wonderful travelling musicians meet and converse in the universal language that is Jazz.
AprilFoolChild is a mix of eclectic soul, house and new age pop. A modern snake charmer, she'll captivate you with her flute while luring you in with equally enchanting vocals. The perfect blend of powerhouse and soul will leave you swaying to the rhythm.
