Event Description : EXHIBITION “Barren Red” a Solo Art Show by Punnet Kaushik.

With Barren Red, Puneet tries to (re)establish techniques on the verge of extinction that include weaving , knitting, crochet and Tibetan bead work embellishment. The Exhibition showcases the folk and tribal art of various regions of India as it directly transports us back to our roots but also evoke an urge of knowing the ‘self’. 

The exhibition showcases a tech of weaves of Kaushik’s multilayered installations and mixed-media works aimed at seeding the landscape to the scape we live in along with the viewer’s own interpretation. A thought about humanitarianism, the comprehensive colour ‘red’ and a thought about our deep rooted traditions…
About Renu modi and Gallery Espace:

Renu Modi’s name is well known to the art lovers. Her foray into art began with M.F. Husain designing her home in 1986; a sculptural-installation that stands as the only one of its kind. 
Gallery Espace has constantly traversed borders and boundaries. Renu Modi and her Gallery Espace have been credited with anticipating trends, spotting latent talent and giving a much-needed platform to many previously unknown talents (Subodh Gupta- Group Show (1991) Solo Show (1993); Ashim Purkayasta - Young Contemporaries (1995), Solo Show (1999) – some artists who today rank amongst the most prolific of the younger generation.
