Event Details : "On Higher Ground" A photography exhibition on the beauty of the jungles by Archna Singh
An exhibition “On Higher Ground”, to showcase and share our beautiful wildlife will be on display at the Visual Arts Gallery, India Habitat Centre, Lodhi Road. The exhibition aims to share the beauty that surrounds us and is the first step towards educating and creating awareness amongst the masses, the importance of preserving our wilderness, a habitat walking slowly each day close to history. The co-existence of the wild and various other life forms is important to maintain the balance of the ecosystem. Unfortunately with the expansion of the modern civilization, the survival of the wild is in real danger and faces a possible extinction in the near future.

Archna Singh has photographed the life and beauty of the animals at various jungles and locations in South Africa, Kenya and India, and is very passionate about her friends from the forests. Through her pictures she wishes to portray the emotions and expressions of our distant cousins, who according to her have as much right to exist as us. Just because they cannot speak doesn’t mean that they don’t have the same feelings as us. Through her photographs, she does not merely bring forward the beauty of these innocent trusting souls but depicts various emotions and feelings of these magnificent creatures and captures the essence of their souls.

There is just not enough awareness amongst us not only about what is happening to the wildlife around us on a global level and the first step towards this is to understand and know what co-exists in a parallel world along with us humans and how important it is that this peaceful co-existence carries on. Her brand Orah Wildlife did an Audio Visual show – Beauty in the beast”, earlier in March at the India Habitat Centre, which was an eye opener upon the various ways that we humans are destructing our wild. Commenting on the show Ms. Archna Singh said, “The future is in our hands and if we want to save our wild for our children, we must take a stand now. Our belief is that spreading awareness is the first step towards it and that is what we intend to do with our AV show – Beauty in the Beast”.

Her first solo exhibition “On Higher Ground” wishes to make the viewer fall in love with the beauty that surrounds us, so all of us can appreciate the beauty in these creatures of God and in turn help save our rapidly declining wildlife.
